2009 Mercedes Benz SLK 200 Kompressor
What a way to cruise into spring! A glorious looking F1 inspired front end, timeless Mercedes styling cues, strong 4 pot brakes up front, as with all Mercedes, their braking performance is as good as the acceleration. Drop the top and you have the ultimate way to enjoy daily driving. Start the engine and you get a nice deep thrum from the twin exit exhausts, wind her up and you can just hear the supercharger howl into life, it’s a lot more exciting than the 1.8L engine may suggest.
On the open road with the top down, even in the coldest of temperatures, you’re kept snug with the heated seats, dual zone climate and most importantly the heated “warm air scarf”, probably the best option on any drop top to date! It’s a reliable, low mileage car that anyone can drive. In automatic mode, you can sit back and let the car do the work. Sat Nav, Bluetooth, multifunction steering wheel, you name it, it has it. If you don’t NEED 4 seats, then why not get a car you can truly enjoy owning! In manual mode, using the flappy paddles, you can take control and really exploit the handling and boy, for such a refined car, does it handle nicely.
Talking of refinement, with the roof up, you wouldn’t even know that you were in a convertible, it is so quiet. With smooth suspension and almost imperceivable gear changes, the car floats along in a way that only Mercedes convertibles do!
Having just had an interim service and an MOT until 2024, there really is nothing this car wants or needs in the future.
It was a Mercedes Benz demonstrator from new, meaning that it was lavished with every luxury under then sun at that point in time, the options adding up to £7,218.00! The list is as follows:
DVD Changer
Sports Package
5 Speed-Automatic transmission
Metallic Paint
Air scarf
Mirror package
Heated seats
Flappy paddles
Media interface
Cupholders
Having had its service and then being machine polished and prepped for sale by us here at HPC Classics, this is one stunning car, that represents great value for money in the current climate.
All in all, a very well-appointed car, that is ready to go out and enjoy this spring and summer, without a care in the world! Drop that top and breathe in the smells of freshly cut grass… you know you want to!
