2006 Aston Martin DB9 V12

  • The quintessential 2000’s Aston Martin. Also, the first one to be built at Aston’s new Gaydon plant and my word didn’t they do a nice job of it. It is hard to argue the beauty that the DB9 possesses. It could quite possibly be the best-looking car that has been mass produced (besides the Vanquish) since the Jaguar E-Type, there just isn’t a bad angle on it, wherever you look. Even the seats are nicely styled, the dashboard again is a thing of beauty. In this colour too, it just oozes class a car that would be welcomed anywhere.

In completely phenomenal condition throughout, with full history, the original Aston Martin umbrella in tact and only 18,000 mils on the clock, this car has been used sparingly and with care and it really shows.

Flick the key round and push the engine start button and the V12 fires into life with ease. A liquid smooth thrum emitted from the twin exit exhausts, as you pull away raising its tone up to a smooth crackle as you accelerate away.

From inside the cabin, it is every bit the GT car it was designed to be, with silky gear changes, great feedback through the steering wheel and a nice hum from the engine, which just serves as a polite reminder to you and anyone around you that you have a full 6 litres of displacement at your disposal.

Sat on the optional multi-spoke wheels, we think this car in this spec will be hard to beat. It makes a refreshing change from all of the Grigio cars out there and looks even more classy, if that were even possible!

  • A fabulous colour combination of Celeste blue over Caspian blue on the interior. Optional multi-spoke wheels and the all-important Linn stereo upgrade! The cost new was at £113,550.10, which in 2005 when ordered was quite the sum. A lovely specification which was sought after then and even more so now.

The car comes with full history, all of the original books, the original order form, umbrella and more, comprehensive would be the best way to describe it. Both keys and fobs are also present and correct.

The last service was carried out in November 2022 by an Aston Martin Specialist and the request was that the car comes back perfect and anythig that wanted doing over and above the standard schedule was covered, so you can rest assured that the car is absolutely on the money and ready to just be enjoyed for many pleasant miles ahead.

The car is also supplied with a C-Tek trickle charger to keep the battery topped up.

On the road the car drives exactly as you’d expect, as smooth as silk and without any hesitation. As a matter of fact, the engine provides so much torque (82% of its full amount from 1,500rpm), that the acceleration tends to mean that you barely use the throttle travel or the flappy paddles, it’s a very easy drive and garners endearing smiles wherever it goes. A future classic, it has the right recipe that much is for sure!
