1964 MG Midget - Ashley bodied Racer

This 1964 MG Midget car was originally built as a 1098cc Ashley historic FIA racer (FIA/HTP Papers expired in 2017). Competed in both SPA and Birket 6-hour races. Raced in Europe and driven at some stage by Tony Jardine. Registered with V5 logbook.

 

Acquired by myself in January 2024 it had already been fitted with Sebring forward hinging front end and Ashley Fastback hard top. Thousands of pounds have been spent in 2024 upgrading and improving the car. The old 1098cc engine/gearbox was removed this year and a new 1380cc full race engine and new straight cut close ratio gearbox was fitted, both only 2 races old!

This is a stunning car with a great history, well developed and ready to race. Our client was going to race this car for the full 2025 season but an opportunity has arisen to change formulas and race in a team, hence the sale.
